Monthly Visit Includes:

Home Network & Internet

  • Restart your router and modem to refresh performance

  • Check for firmware updates to keep your network secure

  • Run an internet speed test to confirm you’re getting what you pay for

  • Review connected devices and remove anything unfamiliar

Smart Home Devices

  • Update and test your cameras, thermostats, and doorbells

  • Replace batteries in remotes and sensors

  • Ensure automations and routines still fit your schedule

Computers and Mobile Devices

  • Install system and app updates

  • Check and replace HVAC filters as needed (especially with pets or allergies)

  • Inspect and top off water softener salt

  • Check fridge and sink water filters for replacement

Safety Checks

  • Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors; replace batteries if weak

  • Inspect fire extinguisher gauge for pressure and accessibility

  • Test GFCI outlets to ensure proper function

  • Check motion and entry lights for reliable activiation

  • Inspect handrails and grab bars for stability

Appliances & Fixtures

  • Clean dryer lint trap and check vent hose for buildup

  • Check under sinks and around toilets for minor leaks or running water

  • Home upkeep – filters, alarms, softeners, and lightbulbs

  • Safety & security – smoke/CO detector tests and camera reviews

  • Preventive maintenance – catching small issues before they turn into big repairs

Monthly Plan: $100/month (+ Supplies)

Meet Russ

Russ has called San Marcos home for nearly 30 years. He’s been married for almost two decades and is a proud dad to two high school boys, who’ll be lending a hand with Russ on jobs when they can.A local realtor by trade, Russ is no stranger to solving practical problems and helping people feel at ease in their homes. The idea for On-Call Son-in-Law actually came from his mother-in-law, who often needed a little tech help around her house. Over the years, Russ became the go-to guy for his family and at his real estate office whenever someone’s Wi-Fi, printer, or smart device decided to act up.He enjoys helping others the same way he helps his own family - patiently, respectfully, and without the confusing tech talk. His goal is to make sure you feel comfortable using everything in your home, from your smart doorbell to your thermostat, and to take the stress out of small fixes and everyday home tasks.
